Hey whiners, I got real sick of all the loser talk in the game thread last night. Was that the first game you watched this year? Did this game not win 103 games?

 

I know we all have baggage from last year, 2008, 2003, whatever. THIS TEAM IS NOT THOSE TEAMS. Back in 2003, most of this team were eating Gogurt and watching Rugrats. They don't give a horsefeathers about those teams. They don't blame umps for their failures. They don't sweat a blown save. They don't have to clean sand out of their cracks when Ethier gets a windblown solo homer.

So stop it, please. This season has been way too much fun for everyone to turn into crybabies over every blown strike call. We should know better than to second-guess a manager who has won 200 games in two seasons.

 

So sack up and #BELiEVEN this team without being a bunch of p*ssies about it.

Tbh I didn't think the game thread was that bad last night. The last 2 games vs SF were much worse with people outright calling the Cubs chokers and losers. There was none of that yesterday just people questioning Joe's managerial decisions.

I agree sometimes it can be a little much. But it's a gamethread. When talking exclusively about a game that is going on live, that's what's going to happen. People aren't going to just accept everything that is happening as positive. Honestly, it's pretty boring if everyone is just like, "oh that wacky, Maddon....bringing in Travis Wood over Jon Lester!". All his moves haven't worked, and though 99.5% of them have, it's not unfair to question them. But just like this team's history has no bearing on the current team, this current team isn't promised anything because of winning 103 games this year and 200 combined the last 2 years.

 

That being said, gamethreads are definitely the most immature forum on this board. But easily avoidable and most people on this board are levelheaded enough to be talked off the ledge even during games.

I guess I'm not seeing where the joke is. I don't think you were proposing benching Rizzo but that you felt that Joe benching Rizzo was enough in the realm of possibility that Joe would think about it.
