The type and length of career and postseason success like lackey's gets athletes respect from fellow athletes all the time. It's not because he's a white guy.

I have no idea why you're so defensive of this dumb dildo. He's just profoundly unlikable.

I'm not defending lackey. I'm disputing a stupid suggestion.

Molina is a guy with a similarly solid career with postseason success. A huge unlikable a-hole. Gets nothing but praise and adulation from announcers and media.

I'm just going off of 40+ years of watching baseball.

Just seems incredibly irresponsible and unfair to accuse people of being racist without having any evidence.

Uh, non-white players getting more [expletive] for doing the sort of thing Lackey does isn't some made up thing; it's basically a cliche:

It's a pretty safe bet that if Lackey was Latino we'd hear a LOT more criticism for his [expletive] attitude, or at the very least plenty of dog-whistles like how "fiery" and "hot-tempered" he is.

That is all fine and good. I have a problem with specifically assuming the two men in the booth today are racist based on assumptions. It is incredibly unfair to them.

It's not like this is the only game where you've been weirdly protective of him. Who gives a horsefeathers if nobody likes him?

News to me. Seems more like he's a non-entity they're just filling time over with the usual baseball platitudes because he's such a zilch. Lackey is an infamous douche.

Yeah, I'll get right on worrying about that.

I'm not protecting him or defending his behavior in any way. I'm explaining why other athletes respect and don't openly rip him on air, which I feel is a very weird thing to have to explain. And it's not like they can just say nothing when he's out there making an ass of himself.

Not asking you to worry about it. Doesn't make my statement at all wrong.

Yes, which we also make fun of in addition to making fun of Lackey. You're ALMOST there.

I'm assuming Matt Vasgersian is actually the Grand Cyclops of the Klan RIGHT NOW.

TBS

Yep. I'm already bummed they'll have the NL playoffs.

FOX has the NL playoffs.

Good. I assumed it was same as last year.

If the Fox announcers were actually paying attention, they would realize the Cubs are doing exactly what makes their offense so tough. Even when they aren't making solid.contact, they are all extending ABs, even Baez, and a pitcher that has been seemingly cruising may not get through 6.

I was wrong. It actually feels pretty good. Also aren't most people associated with the FBI sort of racist?
