Glad it's just an inning.

Comcast SportsNet Chicago will be carrying the live audio call for one inning featuring Los Angeles Dodgers legend Vin Scully’s final Dodgers-Cubs game on Sunday afternoon, August 28. CSN will carry the SportsNet LA audio feed with Scully’s live game call during the entire 3rd inning.

Is there any way to get WSCR to carry the 5th inning...

People keep posting clips of him this season, like, "LOOK WHAT WE WILL LOSE," and they all just sound so, so, so bad.

I love when they play his clips on the B&B show to laud one rambling senile old man who tells too many pointless old timey stories about stuff nobody knows or cares about anymore when one of the main bits of the show is ripping Hawk (who, sure, is a worse announcer/person) for doing the same.

People constantly laud him for the fact that he works alone in the booth, while my reaction to him is that he desperately needs another person in the booth with him

if he had one, his senility would be much more noticeable i think

Hey, I love listening to Scully for an inning, just for the nostalgia his voice induces. A full game grows weary by the end. A series is awful because the same stories get repeated each game.

That's the thing, though; Vin Scully for most of his career WAS great; but he doesn't sound like that all all anymore. The weak, rambling way he sounds now does nothing but remind me of the impending slow decay of inescapable death.

Like, I loved when he called that really, really good outing Maddux had against the Dodgers like, what, over a decade ago? He doesn't sound at all like that now.

you people are insane, vin scully is amazing

Vin Scully is so bad that the announcer in Little Big League is a Scully parody that is actually not as bad as Scully himself. I'm sure he was probably great at some point, but he's lost so much off his fastball that he's the Jered Weaver of announcers.

Written ironically?

He's dreadful and has always been dreadful. Baseball just loves old stuff.
