Historical marker thread

I thought we could use a place to put some of the historical and ridiculous things this team is doing for future generations. This may seem unnecessary as everyone will remember the greatness of this season, but even the grand canyon has markers explaining just how grand it is. This is a place for such markers. Some of the ridiculous run differential stats should go here.

 

Best Cubs record through 20,21, and 22 games since 1907.

Best record in baseball through 20 games since 2003. (Giants?)

-Bunch of NY stuff

-Bunch of DC/Philadelphia stuff

-Like the whole Oregon Trail

-Lincoln's boyhood home, home in Springfield, Ford theater, burial site and site of one of the Lincoln-Douglas debates

-Truman home

-Babe Ruth's birthplace

-Numerous Civil War battle sites

-Royal Gorge

-USS Constellation (Civil War Ship)

 

Places I want to go: Boston, Montreal, Paris, London, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Havana, Machu Picchu, Egypt, Jerusalem

 

However, world politics will probably not allow some of these (at least not safely) and my bank account may only accommodate one or two of these.
