1. I love Joe Maddon... give 'em hell Joe!!

2. I really love reading through a game thread from the beginning after already seeing the Cubs have won and laughing at some of the crazy reactions to things.

3. Most importantly, I especially love this entire team... from Castro to Rizzo to LaStella to Bryant, I love them all... ok... maybe not Haren, but his anti-cardinal comments are helping.

Yeah. There was a little more in the article that I read. Talked about where he said they take it to an extreme, that they've always done it even when he was there, and it's possibly their way of discouraging teams from pitching them in. From the article it sounded like he thought that type of play was basically chicken [expletive].

Edit: Here's the article Maddon upset at Cards

And the comments:

Haren came up in the Cardinals' system, pitching there in 2003-04, and he said they do "police things like that."

"There was just always the thing of protecting the big guys," Haren said. "When I was there, it was [Albert] Pujols, [scott] Rolen, guys like that. I think a lot of times it's used as a tactic to maybe try to not get teams to pitch inside."

Haren gave Rizzo the warning after Holliday was hit.

"I told Rizzo, 'If you get it, I'm sorry,'" Haren said. "[The pitch that hit Holliday] wasn't on purpose. They threw at [Rizzo]. They might take it to the extreme a little bit with that stuff. I think everyone understands it. I guess at least they didn't throw at [Rizzo's] head."
