[green]What does a Jacque Jones bobblehead have to do with Aramis?[/green]

I know right? Looks nothing like him. But I got one when my brother and I went to the Cubs vs Reds back in like 06 or 07 or something.

It's not really Aramis is it? It's Jacque?

They should have put his little cockfighting roosters with him, then it would be eaiser to tell. Is there a worse bobble head out there?

Like it was said, that's horribly inaccurate even by bobblehead standards.

I'm convinced they inexplicably had a bunch of JJ bobbleheads they never used and then at some point they made Roast paste on all of those Aramis stands so they could use them.

This is good to hear. Been watching the Cubs since '82 and he solidified the 3B position that had been a hole for the team dating back to Santo. Always been a fan.

*ahem*

Madlock. Everyone forgets about Madlock.

Three years doesn't count as stability. He was good, but not a fixture.

Agreed. What a horrible trade.

Ok, so maybe hole was a bad word, but definitely a position the Cubs had trouble getting a long term answer at. I'm too lazy (and too tired) to look it up, but I'm curious about how many 3B's the Cubs used after Santo and before acquiring Ramirez. I know it was a good number of them.

They only had Madlock for three years right after Santo, so yeah, it was mostly a hole from 1977 until 2003. There were random moments of quality, like Steve Buchele inexplicably being awesome in '93, but it suuuuuuuuuuuuuucked for the most part otherwise.

Anyone remember Leo Gomez?

He was like Luis Valbuena before Luis Valbuena.

Posted
I remember Gomez. I also remember Cey and nowadays I wonder how the hell that guy ever managed to play third base or hit the way he did. Dude had the craziest forearms I ever saw. Popeye forearms. Lol.

does anyone else have this memory: seeing a post-game interview and realizing that one of your favorite baseball players kinda sounds like kermit the frog

i might have to go to this game so i stand the [expletive] out of his ovation

People that the Cubs have tried at third base.

These can be divided into 5 categories:

1. Middle infielders that they tried there out of pure desperation

2. Outfielders that they tried there out of desperation

3. Failed prospects

4. attempts to catch "lightning in a bottle"

5. Temporarily decent at times has beens
