No idea why Arrieta came out for the 7th.

Because he was feeling good enough to get two weak groundouts and was only at 98 pitches.

Don't forget, the pen went 5 2/3 innings yesterday and we've got Dan Haren going tomorrow.

Because the bullpen has been stretched and used a ton lately.

Should be able to finish this game with everyone but Richard and Rondon.

He ended up throwing, what, 106 pitches? It's fine; they've done well managing his workload and were trying to give the pen a break.

With 4 relievers. Grimm threw 17 pitches. Rondon 8. Russell should be extremely fresh. I don't have a problem with keeping Arrieta in there, hoping he could get thru with 7-10 pitches. But at some point, he has to stop having the burden of being the guy to save the pen. You got 8 guys down there.

And we've been winning a lot, and, thus, using our good relievers a lot. If we want to keep Grimm, Strop, and Rondon fresh -- and we plan on never losing again -- then we are going to have to steal a few innings from starters and/or bad relievers.

He got the first out on one pitch and the second out on two pitches. He then threw four pitches, gave up a double and Joe yanked him. What's the issue here? It's not like he left him in there to labor in the seventh and throw 115-120 pitches. He got two very quick outs, gave up a hit and was removed.

Obviously, the issue was him going to start the 7th in the first place. Results have nothing to do with what was the right move. Not saying this was wrong, but he threw 117 last time out.

It's OK if one of you guys wants to hit a dong in this inning.

I feel like you post this when Schwarber is due up. I know Bryant and Rizzo are right after him, but I think Schwarber's is your dong of choice.
