Whenever I see Garza now I think of his comments about the Cubs rebuilding and him wanting to play for a winner. He goes to a team that almost immediately starts a rebuild and he's pitching so shitty he can't get traded to a contender. Just cracks me up.

I liked Garza when he was on the Cubs, then I hated him after he left. Especially when he gave the public advice to Samardzija to "pitch your way out of Chicago"

 

Although that was good advice, because we got Russell and now we're awesome. Thanks, Matt.

No, and that won't change anytime going forward I wouldn't think. Can't imagine Montero plays tomorrow.

That "opposing starters are averaging 80 pitches and 4.1 innings the last eight games"graphic was pretty fun

CUBS are 30-31 (.492) when the opponent hits at least 1 HR.... 33-17 (.660) when they don't

CUBS are 54-28 (.659) when they don't allow any first inning runs.... 9-20 (.310) when they do

CUBS are 46-10 (.821) when they score first in the game.... 17-38 (.309) when they don't
