Welcome back, Jorge Soler!

Imagine if we can get this guy going and regaining the approach he had early on. I remember going on Twitter last year after watching him in an Iowa Cubs game and saying "Soler is going to be the best of the Cubs prospect bunch." I still believe that could be the case - he's a monster and he's an athlete. Imagine if we can get him to spark this Cubs offense. Here's to hoping that he fixed any kinks they found in his swing during his rehab process!

Man oh man if Soler can become the monster that his raw ability suggests he could be this team could be terrifying for opposing pitchers in 1-2 years.

1. In a perfect world we somehow pick up dee gordon, trade Castro for pitching and use russell at ss gordon at 2nd)

2. 3B Bryant

3. 1B Rizzo

4. RF Soler

5. C Schwarber

6. SS Russell

7. OF (Happ?)

8. P

9. OF (FA? Trade result?)

Makes me smile imagining the slugging that would be done by those guys 2-5.

That's what I was imagining before the season. I love Soler, but I don't think he's going to be any different of a player than he was 30 days ago. I don't imagine he's improved one bit while injured, as it's difficult to get better while not playing.

There is a sense of excitement for his return. But Denoforia was actually pretty solid and unless Soler is going to start hitting for more power, not sure there will be much of a difference for a struggling offense.

Yeah, both he and Baxter were productive last month and their offensive numbers ultimately came out pretty close to what Soler was doing in May.

soler doesn't need to fix his swing so much as he needs to exercise restraint on pitches that are not strikes. i don't think we should expect that to have changed while he was sidelined, but it seems like a decent amount of people are of the mindset that it's a change that can happen suddenly, so we shouldn't not expect it to happen either
