lol the Cardinals seriously have had their best start since 1899 with Wainwright on the DL and a moron managing them. Why do I even bother watching baseball. Just 100% torture.

Maybe it would be less frustrating if you just looked at them as a usually well run baseball organization instead of acting like they have some kind of baseball genie hidden in the depths of the stadium.

Walt [expletive] Jocketty looked like a genius when he was running them

And? He did a good job. Baseball teams don't have to be run by brain trusts (no, I'm not slamming our FO) to be successful.

Jesus [expletive] christ do I hate the [expletive] cardinals.

Their days are [expletive] numbered, though.

We've been saying that since...

Not me. [expletive] always seem to find a way to win.

I'm more confident in the Cubs ascendence at this point than the cards decline.

Where's the fun in that?

Yeah, I gotta remind myself that I honestly didn't see the '15 Cubs as a playoff team coming into the season (sue me, I just wasn't overly optimistic). Our record prior to the Brewers series got me excited, but I need to remember this will be a developmental year for several (hopefully) of our future core players. If nothing else, I think there will be stretches of lots of fun watching this team grow.

stop it

you guys need to stop this seriously

this team is a legit contender NOW

Baseball genie? Yeah, because everyone knows that pixie dust comes from genies.

Holy crap you guys are the worst. The Cubs are 13-11, the year is over!

we got lucky early on cuz pittsburgs bats havent fired up yet.

this years team is not as good a team as the record has shown.

face it our hitting is streaky and overall our pitching is just alright.

we might get a wildcard but not the division. i just dont see it.

cardinals are to deep a squad. and they have some fcking amazing karma for some reason.

this only applies to the cubs/bears fans

but what is more annoying between what the cardinals have done since 96 and the packers managing to go from brett favre to aaron rodgers in a similar span?

if they follow up arod with soembody amazing again when half the league can't even find a competent starter, i'm quitting football

NEGATIVE our pitching isnt good enough face the facts.

Same here. Just going to enjoy the ride. If they make the playoffs, hey, great, that's some delicious cake. If not, not really a big deal barring it being because of some kind of disaster.

You are full of nonsense.

You have no concept of facts, the team is better than the record has shown, and luck has nothing to do with it.

The Cubs currently lead the wild card and have played the hardest schedule in the NL to date. If you 'don't see it' with them it's because you watch all their games and get frustrated at their failures to the point that it colors your opinion.

Obviously, but it's just silly at a certain point to just keep chalking it up to luck. They've got a good organization that spots and develops talent well and signs well and coaches well. They're the Packers of the MLB.

There was a poster not long ago who posted in a quasi-haiku form. Who was it? And don't say LLF or WSR, because he never posted in haiku form.

I don't mean to claim that the cards are the darlings of the cosmos or something. They are an organization that seems to rarely make mistakes while often finding good fortune. Does that make the situation any less frustrating?

as far as the packers, though, there has to be a ton of luck involved in going favre to rodgers without a hiccup, i don't care what anyone says about their org. like a ton.

It's been a good 5 years since a Cubs game got me so pissed off that it kept me up at night. So what if it's early May, and in the end, a maddening 9-10 loss is no different from a 10-0 blowout. But it's called human emotion, dammit, and it's not always rational.
