I don't agree with it but its hard to defend what he did to his kid. I guess you could try to compare 2 games for hitting wife vs. 15 for abusing child, but again I don't want to be defending child abuse as a less severe offense.

I agree with the result of being suspended for the season. The process was a cluster [expletive] though.

My problem with the Peterson suspension isn't that I in any way condone what Peterson did. It's atrocious. But, in this instance, and in a bunch of others, Goodell just makes [expletive] up as he goes along. I really think discipline should be taken out of his hands, because he'll ignore a bunch of [expletive] and then suddenly go all Wyatt Earp and throw down the law...but he's just making it up as he goes with no consistency or plan.

 

He acts like a teacher who when he starts to lose control, goes ballistic and throws a student out of class, fails him for the year, just so he can look like a badass.

 

I really want this to go in Peterson's favor in court just so it's another blemish on Goodell.

Meanwhile Ray McDonald was able to play the entire time although DA now won't press charges so maybe it was a good thing, but inconsistent. I feel somewhat bad for Greg Hardy. Even if he wins in court next year, Goodell still might suspend him for the whole 2015 season since he doesn't consider this season counts toward time served (which is a load of crock IMO) and well... just because he can.
