Well, they took advantage of our shitty players.

Well Patrick Sharp cost them this one. He's been bad all year and it caught up to them. Just win 2 in Chicago and it's all good though.

Over 2 minutes of 6 attackers and we didn't even control the puck in our zone once. When other teams do it they are peppering shots at the net the entire time. Poor showing at the end.

 

Overall I think the Hawks outplayed them by a decent amount. Just one of those games.

? Really I didn't get that impression at all from the game? Of course I always thought it would be a tough series but nothing I saw tonight, in a near must win at home, suggested that this is the hardest team we've played in the playoffs.

Yeah but your post seemed to imply that this game proves it. I wasn't all that impressed with them. I think Hawks in 6. They will split the next 2 and Hawks win the rest

i've seen a healthy contingent of hawks fans expecting a sweep or a 5 game series. i'm mostly just typical meatballery, but the attitude has definitely been different going into this series.

 

people just underestimate the lightning because they play in the east. this is not the 2014 rangers. the lightning play like a big, fast team from the west.

the ducks got by all season on the strength of 1-goal wins, and also have a history of doing poorly in the playoffs. they had the 9th best goal differential in the west (+10). the lightning were +51. the west is better, but it's not THAT much better.
