i am going to make yohan matos (catcher on DSL cubs) my favorite random prospect who nobody else cares about. reported $280k bonus. hitting .314/.414/.540/.954 with 23 bb/31 k as a 17 year old catcher.

I was browsing the VSL/DSL rosters the other day and came up with 6 guys to keep an eye on based on stat scouting and DOB:

Alfredo Colorado

Erling Moreno (well, this one was kind of obvious)

Eugenio Palma

Luis Hidalgo

Wladimir Galindo

Yohan Matos

I'm definitely interested on hearing reports on Matos and Galindo, since they received solid bonuses.

What can they honestly do with him at this point? It's like some golfer getting yips on the green.

That's worse than the DSL SS from 5 years ago or so that seemed like he K'd half the time and made 2 errors a game.

you jerks should participate because this site is really crappy compared to how it used to be (but much better than anywhere else still)

if you recognize the discussion as high quality, there's a decent chance you'll contribute at that level too

I'll jump on the lurker love train as well. I've been reading the boards here as a guest for probably 8 years or so, but only recently signed up for a profile to make keeping up with posts easier. It's only been in the past few years that I wasn't intimidated by all of the SABR voodoo, but still don't know how much I'd be able to contribute to the conversations without showing my ignorance.

And you should be nervous David...I can only imagine there are dozens of people like me who have been reading your posts for years from the shadows of NSBB. Kind of creepy if you think about it.

Holy cow - that is Deeeeepressing. Shut him down for the season and try bringing him along slowly in instructional I guess.

He sucked last year in Arizona and is an upper 80's velo guy that has control. Nothing to see here.

On the bright side, that 117.00 ERA has nowhere to go but down.
