Judging by some of his old quotes, I don't know if Cashner fully understands that if a team trades you, it doesn't automatically mean they don't like you as a player and don't believe in you. In this case, he was the main piece for a player that is well known to be loved by Theo and Jed. But you are right, most guys probably think along the same lines as Cashner and use it as motivation. Whatever works, I suppose.
