Question for those that have been following the minors a lot longer than I have: The MWL and FSL All-Star Games are coming up in a week or so. Is there a spike in deserving talent moving up a level after the ASG?

Yeah, there normally are a few guys who get bumped up at this time. It coincides with the signing of recently-drafted prospects and the start of short-season baseball - which allows you to replace the guys who are promoted.

Figured as much. Thanks, Raisin.

In other news, BJax hit HR #5, not that anyone can be bothered to care at this point.

Aren't guys supposed to work those things out in EXST before being promoted?

I'm sure he worked on it before being promoted. Heck, we've all seen big leaguers lose their release point, let alone minor leaguers.

@jjcoop36: Cubs Dan Vogelbach shows his power takes a short two-strike swing on Boyd fastball. Hits it oppo field to the wall for a double

@Gems38: @CubsDen Vogelbach reaches out and one hops left centerfield fence. Easy oppo power. Maples all over the place not seeing 2M investment.

Vogelbach HR (11).

@Gems38: @CubsDen Almora 2nd hit of the day then laser 2r HR from Vogelbach. Turned on 90 mph FB on the inner half and laced it 2RF.

Maples worked at only 87-90 today. I had seen reports of 88-92 from previous games. Pretty disappointing.

Lake's having another big game with the bat too.

Any chance that Lake's called up by the 2nd half? He plays 3B and I believe all 3 OF spots. With 3-4 starters at said positions being LH, he'd have plenty of playing time. Especially once those starters start going their seperate ways in the next few weeks or so.
