In the early stages of trying to work out a deal. 12 team, non PPR league. I'm currently in first (6-1) so I'm somewhat hesitant to make a deal, but last year I was in first most of the year, sputtered at the end and lost in the second round of the playoffs after having an opening round bye.

I have Frank Gore and Larry Fitzgerald. Gore's been great, but I don't know how I feel about him going forward. Fitz has been so inconsistent and his QBs are such trash, I wouldn't mind an upgrade. I'd like to sell high on Gore and get something decent for Fitz on his name alone.

Right now I'm eying a package of Vincent Jackson and Matt Forte. Obviously Jackson has been huge, and I'm not entirely sure he'll be a top-5 WR all year, but I think he's a solid WR2. I think Forte will improve dramatically. Another benefit of these two is their bye week already passed.

Again though, I don't know if I'm trying to make a deal just to make a deal because I don't want to stand put and falter down the stretch, or if I'm actually wise in trying to move these two guys. Wanted to see what you guys thought.

For reference, my other RBs are Marshawn Lynch and Alex Green (with a waiver request in for Andre Brown) - not great depth.

My WRs are Calvin Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, and I have a waiver request in for Andre Roberts (who seems to be getting of Fitz's looks).

I definitely agree with the thought of selling high on Gore. Too many question marks for me. Little bit of an injury history (and banged up a little bit right now), somewhat limited amount of touches at times, and some bad matchups. He faces 3 of the top 9 run defenses during the fantasy playoffs, although one of those is the Seahawks D he just shredded. Fitzgerald doesn't have a good fantasy playoff matchup schedule either.

As far as which deal you should be targeting, I'm not sure about that. I would lean towards Forte and Jackson, but I'm not quite sure why. It probably depends on how highly you think of McFadden at this point because if he can figure out his problems, his schedule is fairly easy..but he hasn't shown that burst yet and is probably still the biggest injury risk among the 4.

Non PPR, I'd definitely keep Gore and Fitz over either of those deals. While I did sell high on Gore at this exact point last year, it was a PPR league and I wound up with using my return for the Gore trade (Dez Bryant and somone else I can't remember) to trade another WR I had for MJD, who was great the 2nd half of the season.

Forte's value lies in PPR, as he doesn't get goalline carries. Jackson, despite being 6'5", has never been a redzone target either. His TDs have typically been of long variety. So, when he doesn't get a long pass, you risk being screwed. Granted, he's been good most of the time this year. But he did have 2 stinkers in the first 3 games. I like Fitz going forward. He's been consistent-er longer.

Wasn't able to work anything out anyways. I like Gore more than Fitz going forward, and would love to move Fitz on his own, but his lack of QB is scaring a lot of people off (me included, obviously). Not many people in this league seem into trading, which is weird considering 8 teams are either 4-3 or 3-4 right now and 6 teams make the playoffs, but hey, I'll sit at 6-1 and let them fight it out with each other.
