Baez finished 0-6 with 3 K's between the two games.

Soler 1-3 thus far

Damn, playing once every 5 days will do that to a guy. Especially when a lot of the teams in the FSL aren't having games delayed/postponed everyday and are on a much better routine.

He had plenty of days like that before the rain started. While I'm sure sitting for days didn't help much it's certainly not the main cause.

Baez had a couple of weeks in EXST where he was cold as ice, I'm not the least bit worried about him. He'll learn from it.

Um...I'm pretty sure Tim Saunders didn't just get caught stealing for the 14th time...what was that supposed to be?

Sorry, that was Pin-Chieh Chen's 14th CS that I accidentally *credited* Saunders.

McNeil went 4 5 0 0 0 2, ERA down to 1.69.....Wish AZPhil would give us some velo reports on some of our young pitching we just drafted.

Like McNeil a lot. He's firmly in my top 30. I'm really big on the "frame" of a player. McNeil is a good athlete with a very good "baseball body". He throws high 80s-low 90s with some sink, also throws a slider and change. Looks pretty wiry right now, but is a guy that I feel is going to be able to up the fastball a couple ticks (has hit 93 in the past, not sure how velo is as a pro so far). Hearing good things about his delivery too. He's going to need time, but he has the frame to add some lower body strength/mass, and get the fastball to the point he's working at 92-94, touching 95-96 and if he refines the breaking ball, I think he's a guy to keep a real close eye on.

Sounds like a slighter built Ben Wells, minus a tick or two. Which would make me very happy.

Yeah, I've seen the McNeil-Wells comps before. It works with size but Wells' FB has much, much more sink and makes it a far better weapon than McNeil's.

I can't believe that Ben Wells made the final decision on whether to do the surgery. At least I hope not.

I doubt he made the decision, per se. He was probably given a choice only if management felt both options were relatively equal for his future.

I'd be willing to bet that this happens a lot more than you'd think. If his elbow is "healed" he missed 3 months instead of 12. If his elbow is ok he could still pitch in winter league somewhere, thus making up for lost time without taxing his arm.
