I wonder who they send down/DFA/etc?

Moving Vizcaino to the 60-day DL accounts for the 40-man spot, so no one else has to be removed from it.

(Did I say Chapman? Reds on the brain)

We've got 44 guys on the 40 man now, with Vizcaino, Mateo, Parker, and Stewart being on the 60 day DL. My honest guess is when our offseason is over, we'll have 20 guys on the 40 man that aren't on it currently.

Do we need to clear a spot on the 25-man for him?

That will have to happen, yes. Bowden, Maine or maybe Beliveau is my guess.

This is a longshot, but I wonder if there's a trade in the works.

Nah. If they were to make a trade, they may as well just call up Dolis, who's already started his rehab, or else one of the guys we have stashed in Iowa.

Unless they like Hinshaw.

I am starting to think that they have a pretty good idea that Camp and/or Corpas will be gone by months end, at which time they can flood the big league club wits as many of Iowa's spare parts as they like. We won't get anything of any value, but they're really of no use to us going forward, especially when they can just keep cycling through Alex Hinshaws and such. And of course there's Marmol. We could get something decent if we pick up most or all of his 2013 salary. By decent, I mean just that. Depending on the system, anywhere between someone's top 10-25 as well as a sweetener.

This is such a classic WSR post.

It needs 5-10 more names of AA/AAA guys with no future.

With Johnson and Baker gone he's just drifting aimlessly.

Cardenas and Beliveau to Iowa to make room for Hinshaw and Rusin.

Always good to send down a young, promising reliever in favor of another 30 something.

None of those players are 30 or over. I discovered this fact by looking it up. True story.

Almost 30. Hinshaw will be 30 at the end of October,so why send down Beliveau who' been doing well, aside from a few more walks that we'd like? I have no problem with Rusin. I've been all for auditioning him for a while now.

Beliveau will be back in 10 days, and since he pitched each of the last 3 nights he wasn't likely to be used tonight or tomorrow.

How about the fact that Beliveau and even Maine are younger, similar power lefty arms with similar K% and notably better BB% throughout their minor league careers? So I was off by a year on his age.
