Starling Peralta hit 95 mph in 3 IP of work (42 pitches). I imagine he still needs 2-3 more starts before he's ready for Peoria.

Javier Baez went 0/4 but:

Arizona Phil[/url]"]Javier Baez went hitless in four at-bats, striking out twice (both times swinging). He is now 0-17 with eight strikeouts since hitting for the cycle last Monday versus the Angels.

However, the two balls Baez put into play today were a towering fly ball to the deepest part of the ballpark caught up against the fence by the Rockies CF, and the other a fly ball to left that required a diving catch by the LF.

Brett Jackson has only struck out once in the past six games.

K rate is down around 25% now and the BA up above .250, ops over .800

Well look at that, miracles do happen.

Don't know about 3 levels higher. He's 21. High A is about age appropriate, and there's a chance, if he has his control issues under wrap, that he could see Daytona later this year. To be honest, I do wonder if they might contemplate skipping him straight to Daytona.

I'm probably as confident as anyone here, that Brett becomes a building block for us. But putting up a .250 BA and an .800 OPS isn't enough to warrant a promotion. Not in the PCL. I'm completely fine with giving him half a season there and bringing him up around the ASB.

Hey, it's a miracle. Good things are happening. Not only does Marco Hernandez get a hit ... so does Taiwan Easterling AND Matt Szczur! Amazing. (sad thing is ... it does seem pretty remarkable considering the poor starts all three guys are off to offensively).

Sure seems like 2nd time through the lineup, opponents get a significantly better read on Rosario.

Any reports on how Cates looked tonight? I do like the 8:2 GO/FO.

If they do that sure, but Peoria isn't High A and he's not even there. It's not even meant as a knock on his talent, as he's the guy who's young, tall, hitting 95, and backing it with strong numbers. We need more of that is what I'm saying, at all ages, and all levels basically...There's that, and I'm also looking for the ARL stud...Guys like Vitters and Hoon Ha are showing nice skills being young for the level, but I want some more high end talent is all. Castro shows they have the guys in place to find stud talent, so hopefully we'll see more.

He's not at Peoria because he was hurt during spring training.
