I can't access the cbs site from work and the draft room won't load on my mobile. Who can I send my pick to?

Anyone that has commissioner privileges can make a pick for you.

What's the time limit per pick set to? I mean, did Jeff intend to pick Santana or did CBS make the pick for him (I only ask because Santana was at the top of the CBS list at the time of the pick)?

you know it's a shallow draft when i'm super excited to get a guy that has like a 40% chance of being in rehab at the start of the season with the 4th overall pick.

what he's saying is, "you made a pick so bad it could only be explained by a technical malfunction."

I know. But I'm going to have a team of 15 SPs. Then we'll see who's laughing at whom.

i don't have any picks until the start of the third round, so if you guys could leave me some good players, that would be great.

i think my pitching will be very good with halladay, clifton lee, jaime garcia and darvish. hopefully that can offset the fact that my best offensive player is starlin castro or pablo sandoval.

My best offensive player is Mitch Moreland.

I'm stuck with one of Hanley, Longoria or Upton as my best.

so confirmed! I was thinking that I had something missing that I had given up, but then figured I must have dreamed it. Think we originally documented on the cbs board, not over here, so that's probably how we managed to miss it!

An 8th round pick to Kid Rodelo from Sock It Thome is missing from a trade Karen and I did at last year's draft involving Ian Kinsler.

ok... is there any record of that? it's not in the 2012 draft pick thread and i feel like i'd probably need karen to confirm this since i can't find anything about it on this board.

also (for all), if all we have to sort out is this 8th round pick - having already set the draft order and agreed who is major league draft eligible and who isn't - when do we start?

probably will need to confirm with Karen because I did not see it on the board either..

ok thanks karen... can you offer rodelo a trade of your 8th round pick for nothing? i can't move draft picks around now that the draft has started. you should be able to trade the pick though.

i'm curious if anyone would have taken someone other than darvish with the first pick? i doubt that he'll be the highest point-scorer this year of all the players available, but given that i can have him for free through 2015, it seemed like a no-brainer to me.

This is easily the weakest draft we've had in this league. I think the points total should drop to 1500 next year to promote a better draft with players moving around more year to year...

Why is the draft weaker? Are players not putting up as many points or are more quality players exempt? It definitely seems weak, but I have no frame of reference.

i'd say it's a combination of things - maybe more elite players got hurt last year? wainwright is basically a free keeper, hanley ramirez sucked and was hurt, morneau was hurt, josh johnson, etc. offense was down. and i think teams in the league, like yourself and raw, did a good job of acquiring good exempt players from good teams rather than letting them reach the draft.

i don't think the 2000 point cap is keeping teams from amassing too much talent; the talent is just being spread out via trades rather than the draft. my team was God-awful last year but i acquired halladay and cliff lee in the offseason. raw's team sucked but i think his keepers (adrian gonzalez, d. espinoza, tulo, freese, CarGo, greinke, wainwright, strasburg, hellickson, britton) rank up there with anybody's. if lousy teams with active owners can't improve over the space of a year or two, then i'd say yes, change the keeper cap, but otherwise just leave it as is.

I disagree. There were a lot of top end players that had off seasons or that missed time being injured which caused their "salary" for 2012 to be lower.

For me Pujols had an off year for him. When was the last time he only scored 532 points in a season? Ryan Zimmerman also was injured for most of the season and only scored 275. In a normal season there is no way I would have been able to keep Pujols, King Felix, Zimmerman and GGon in the same offseason.
