Normally I'm opposed to capital punishment but in the case of people like joe paterno I'm willing to make an exception.

 

What Paterno has done over the entire course of this thing has been pretty awful, I grant you that. However, it seems like a lot of people (not necessarily talking about NSBB) are more mad at Paterno than Sandusky. Yes, Paterno was an awful, horrible piece of crap for not doing anything and allowing it to continue, but Sandusky was the guy actually doing it.

Paterno is the major face of all of this, fair or not it's pretty clear why he is the one who gets the majority of ire drawn his way. I'm going to guess that a lot those other people will have, and already have had their lives ruined from this, it just doesn't matter as much to the public as they aren't public figures.

Nixon was plenty guilty. As is Paterno. I never once said anything even remotely close to "unfair". I was just saying that Sandusky was the guy actually doing it, yet it seems a lot of people are far more upset with Paterno.

He reported what he heard to Curley and Schultz. Granted, he didn't report it to President Bush, per his responsibilities as the Most Powerful Man in Pennsylvania, but saying he "failed to report" is incorrect and you know it. I also hope anyone planning on "actively covering up" anything in the future take notes from Paterno's mistakes: don't tell your superiors about what you plan on covering up, because that will make it harder to cover it up.
