Quenneville mentioned something about seeing how Scott responds to playing an actual full shift. I'm thinking that if he can't capitalize on this opportunity, we might see the last of him.

That's probably wishful thinking, though.

miserable start. have we even had the puck?

Crawford just had it as he was pulling it from his own goal. 1-0 STL.

Hawks not looking as bad as last game but still looking poor.

Edit: Surprise, a Scott turnover leads to a goal

Yeah, not really to enthusiastic about the team's play tonight.

They're playing like [expletive].

i feel like we're passing way too much

And taking really crappy low percentage shots.

Hawks are outshooting the Blues 25-18, they have had 6 more minutes of power play time, and have won more faceoffs than St. Louis 22-20 and still they play a really crappy game and are probably gonna lose.

Hawks have scored 1 goal in their last 30 power play attempts (3.3%). We're getting into historic territory here in terms of futility. It's not even a coincidence anymore or small sample size, something is unbelievably wrong with our PP.

forecheck, backcheck, any kind of check is working against the hawks right now. teams have the book on us and we look absolutely helpless.

The WGN radio guys are ripping on the Hawks effort in this one. Too much individual play, not giving full effort on loose pucks, settling for low percentage shots from 45-50 feet away and not enough fighting for a spot down low to redirect/put in rebounds.

Teams are really figuring out that we are not dumping the puck in the zone enough. Its usually one guy taking it all the way into the zone. Which is fine many times but if 3 guys challenge you in the neutral zone instead of dropping back and forechecking inside the zone, you need to be able to dump and chase.

That's two straight games where it seemed as though rivals brought it more than the Hawks. That's frustrating because we are a good hockey team.

oh absolutely. in the last two games you can absolutely see both defenders push up to the neutral zone, often aided by a third, as the hawks approach the offensive zone with the puck. dump the puck and win the foot race a few times and then the defensemen will need to play more honest, especially when they get burned. instead they just continually try to will the puck towards the goalie, and get their purses snatched every time. it's maddening. and for all our supposed toughness, we are winning close to zero position battles near the crease on either end, and it is exasperating woes on both ends.
