I'm sure of you go to some little soul food joint down south, or even a Chicago neighborhood that your prefer not enter into, it would be a ton better than any of those, but if your talking chain, KFCs original recipe is the standard.

There was a place in Evanston on Ridge called "The Chicken Shack" that was amazing. No idea if it's still there though. They had something called chicken bits, that I'd prefer not know exactly what they were, but they were amazing.

Well yeah chicken from any mom & pop restaurant down south is going to destroy any of these options. Being from the midwest though, we don't really have those places here.

Chick-Fil-A is easily #1 for me on taste alone. Portions, however, are a different story. It costs me $8 for a combo where I don't even get close to full. That yellow Chick-Fil-A sauce is out of this world though.

Holy wow! Two other votes for Bojangles!

yeah i voted for bojangles... food seemed fine and one of my best friends (recently passed away) really wanted to go there when we were driving through the south, because he liked the name.

to be honest it's probably not the best but i just have good memories from it.

if you aren't full after eating a combo meal then you might want to start managing your portions better.

If you eat Chick-Fil-A you should know what I'm talking about. $8 for 12 VERY small nuggets and fries. How is that supposed to fill a person up? $7 for a chicken sandwich and fries, with the same result. FWIW, I weigh 180 lbs so it's not like my body demands huge portions.

i've eaten chik-fil-a enough to know that i'm full if i eat a combo meal from there...and my point still stands...you're probably overeating most of the time(most people do), which makes chik-fil-a's normal sized portions seem small to you...there are 790 calories in a 12 piece chik-fil-a combo with medium fries, that should fill you up.

btw, the best fried chicken i've ever had is from a place called lamar's in chattanooga, tn.

I don't have this problem at ANY other restaurant. It's certainly possible the Chick-Fil-A where I live just isn't as generous with portion size. Did you really look up the calorie count of a meal just to prove your point?

I am still puzzled by Chik-Fil-A. It looks HORRIBLE and yet people rave.

I've eaten there twice, and both times I had explosive diarrhea afterwards

Be honest: you have explosive diarrhea more often than not.

Fried Chicken is bone-in, not chicken strips. That being said Raising Canes makes a some strips, great sauce and bread. Though you should run a 5K prior to eating there.

If you are ever in the DFW area go to Babes Fried Chicken and don't eat 10 hours prior to going.
