Too bad Baker couldnt make some slight attempt to get the damn bat on the ball when he knew that it could be the last chance.

 

The ump calling a third strike on what was clearly a ball did not help.

They have to continue this game right? Since the road team is batting and trailing. Or is it after the 5th the game can be over even the home team is winning?

 

The only way who is batting matters is if the road team takes the lead in the top of the inning and the home team hasn't had a chance to bat yet. Since the Sox took the lead a long time ago, the game would be called in favor of the Sox if it is in fact called.

Roan got his info from the White Sox head groundskeeper. So unless you have access to a radar that someone who does this for a living can't get, the game will resume.

buried in the awesomeness of that cardinals' meltdown is the part where the brilliant tony larussa pulled trever miller (.203/.294//.257/.551 against LH batters in 2010) in favor of jason motte (who's definitely righthanded) to face ryan howard (.913 OPS versus RHP this year; .693 versus LHP). just a horrendous decision.
