Probably is an emergency but he nearly made Peoria's roster and has been doing great at extended spring training.

Still a bit disappointed that Harman is solely in the pen, but he's gotten off to a superb start. Granted, considering his polish, somewhat expected, but still nice to see. Bryce Shafer's been effective, but I don't recall anything exemplary on his stuff. Of course, with pen arms, small sample sizes.

Much as I liked Alberto Cabrera last year, his struggles aren't that surprising, and I wonder if he should be moved to the pen sooner than later, where he might move faster. Of course, after moving Dolis, there isn't exactly anyone forcing Cabrera off a rotation spot right now. Rhoderick is sure powering along in AA.

Good to see Marquez Smith getting untracked a bit offensively. They did dabble him a bit at 2nd (was it last week?), so he must be in much better shape than last year. I never really bought into the talk that some people had about Gaub as a possible late inning arm (he'd have to really tighten up the control), but he is a good looking LOOGY type arm. Carpenter's been awful this year out of the pen. The control has simply collapsed. I'd be curious to find out his ratio 4 seamers this year compared to the ratio of 4-seamers when he was a starter, though.
