First time with the highest weekly score thanks to six strong pitching performances with the Liriano no hitter leading the way.

I had to look around a bit to figure it out. I prefer the old layout because I knew where to look for everything.

I like some of the new stuff, but prefer a lot of the old stuff. It's a bit tricky setting line ups with a smart phone, and I'd definitely prefer a more simplified process for that.

my offense is 7-13 with 4 2b, 2 hr and 10 rbi today... awesome.

If only you had Roy Halladay on the hill to really stick it to your opponent...... :D

don't worry, turner and miller and delgado all had excellent outings today and mike trout hit his 6th home run in less than 100 ABs. the future is very bright.

They all have bright futures until Dr. Andrews shows up.

trading halladay makes my team weaker for the next 4 months. that's it.

I personally agree with what you did to get something for the future. I do have thoughts the same way Tim does about paying draft picks now and trying to get them back in the future post season. That mentality does upset some people around here, but I am personally glad to see it still happening.

a couple of years from now when my team is routinely pounding on yours i will be sure to remind you of that comment :P

My experience with the top prospects has been rather blah. Alex Gordon didn't start producing until his exemptions were all burned. I got a good year out of Ian Stewart, and now he sucks. Neftali Feliz was the top pitching prospect in baseball and now he's in his second year as a closer. When he finally gets to the hill, his exemptions will be gone. Aaron Crow is now following that same path. I can't get giddy that he is setting records in the KC bullpen. It does me no good.

Matt LaPorta is pretty plain for me right now. Mat Gamel is stuck behind Casey McGehee. Jay Bruce is now out of exemptions. Travis Snider? Brandon Wood?

Not all of the prospects will rise to the challenge and be awesome immediately. I've been burned enough times to know all too well.

If there was one guy to build a young team around like all of your current prospects, Roy Halladay was that guy.

sshhh...stop telling people it's a waste of top to build good farm systems. half the league competing to amass the most BA top 100 prospects is how i make the playoffs every year.

Yeah, not one of my better ideas.

On the other hand, my long run of success in the league is based in large measure on hitting on a string of minor leaguers who either contribute to my team during their exempt years or that basically serve as currency during trades. The reason I've had a more difficult time building my team the past couple years is that the minor leaguers I've retained haven't panned out as well or as quickly. I'm hoping that changes with Hosmer and Harper.

Truffle has taken a look at his lineup and decided he's not going to be able to compete this year no matter what the results of the first few weeks looked like. He traded a difficult to retain asset for several assets that are free to keep. After the season, he'll be able to take on points and get additional good players using those assets when he has more leverage.

It is something that we've all pined for Hendry to do at various times during his tenure. Rather than make some prolonged attempt at mere respectability, we've all wished that he'd face reality, sell off some of his valuable assets to get key pieces for the future and make deals to increase the overall strength of the system.

except that's real baseball and we're playing fantasy baseball.

trading off your fantasy team on may 1st so you can maybe do well in 4 years with the prospects you've traded for is [expletive] boring.
