Can anyone tell me why the Dodgers/Giants game is blacked out in Iowa on the Extra Innings trial?

I was just gonna come and ask a similar question. My sister in brother in law live about 30 miles out of Chicago and the Giant-Dodger game is being blacked out as well. WTF?

I found a discussion on dbstalk.com about it and it sounds like people in the Cubs/Sox market are blacked out for some reason, probably a glitch. A guy in Cleveland says he's getting it.

Tried calling DirecTV and a clueless CSR told me that it was because that's what happens when games don't sell out. Okay.

My brother in law called Direct TV as well and said "The Giants shouldn't be on any channel at all because MLB doesn't own them" and "Isn't baseball almost over so why does it matter?"

I am not a fan of the new mlb.com Gameday. They took all the information off the screen and made it so you can only look at one thing at a time... the improved graphics don't make up for that.

I'm not a fan because for whatever reason it doesn't work for me, and I don't really care to figure it out. ESPN's GameCast works just fine.

Yeah, I used it today and will probably go back to the old Gameday in the future. At least they left the option out there.
