MLBTR is saying he's drawing alot of trade interest at the moment. He'll be making 6.1 mill in 2011 and then he has 3 club option years at 7,9, and 11 mill per to follow. I'm very undecided on him personally, is he worth more than a Garza or possibly even a Greinke, because of his team friendly contract? MLBTR raised the question anyway. I'd think he is NOT worth that much of a return, but as I've said, I'm unsure.

He's a huge question mark. He bounced back a bit last year and was good, but he wasn't anything tremendously special, though he does provide an excellent GB%. The question is was this season kind of a fluke year or will he be able to become better than he was to regain his form from a few years back.

I don't know. He'd be worth looking into, but if a lot of teams are after him he'd probably cost at least one valuable bargaining chip and I don't know if I'd be willing to give that up for someone you can't be sure on

He doesn't give up many home runs (.78 per 9), but he also really doesn't strike guys out (5.50 K/9) and walks too many (3.67 BB/9). xFIP thinks he's pretty much been the same pitcher as Garza, though (both have a career 4.45 xFIP).

With the money as high as it is for a 27 year old with poor peripherals, I wouldn't give up much in talent. I'd rather try for a reasonable Garza deal, I think.

Though better than any of that would be Brandon Webb.

I wonder why the Cubs dont seem to have any interest in Fausto. Hed be less risky than Webb, and if he gets to full health, has a higher upside than Garza. I dont know what it would take to get him, but if Cleveland would take a Colvin-centric package for him, it would be a risk Id be more than willing to take.

There's really very little upside to Carmona. Even at his very best he never strikes anyone out, and needs pretty pinpoint control to be effective, which he's done exactly once in his career.
