Derek Jeter is the #38 batter. As such, I summarily reject these findings.

 

If it's based on position I would not doubt that. He's been a tremendous hitting shortstop.

 

a lifetime .371 wOBA from a SS is nothing to sneeze at. that puts him third among all shortstops since 1952.

it's weird how derek jeter either seems to be way overrated or way underrated depending on who you talk to

 

obviously he's way overrated among yankee fans. outside of that, i think he was overrated for so long that there was a backlash against him, which then made him underrated by a lot of people.

Math was used for baseball related purposes? This changes everything

 

I, too, am a big fan of the thread title. If they're already using math to study sports statistics, next thing you know they'll be using science to study sports medicine. Then it's the Matrix all over again.

For some reason I posted this and then never came back to this thread.

 

I was looking at the entire batters list. All positions, all-time.
