Damn! I would have loved him on a 1 year, incentive-laden contract like the one the Fish gave him. Vazquez is a much better option than most of the trash we're looking at. We're gonna end up giving Brandon Webb (who I wouldn't mind on a deal similar to Vazquez's) like a 3 year, $34 million dollar deal

I think you're exaggerating the money and the years by quite a bit.

He's WAY exaggerating it. Webb has pitched one game in the last two years. There's no chance he's going to get a contract like that. The best he could hope for is a one-year contract with a vesting option.

I really hope we don't go with a non-reclamation project pitcher at this point. The only two good innings eaters out there – Westbrook and Vazquez – are now off the market, so if Hendry feels the need to sign a pitcher, hopefully it'll be a high-risk, high reward type like Webb or Bedard (is he a FA?).
