For as much crap as the Cubs have put us through, either being non factors or breaking our hearts and the Bears being non factors most of the time as well, what the Bulls gave us with Mike made up for it, as far as I'm concerned. The older you get, the more you appreciate what you're watching, I guess.

 

I was 10 when the Bears won it all, so I certainly enjoyed it, but not nearly as much as I would have if they had done it recently. The Bulls were winning during my college years and shortly after. Way easier to appreciate at that stage. And the funny thing about it was that I never worried about them. Mike was going to win. Never a doubt in my mind. Not a chance anyone ever comes close to him as far as being my favorite athlete of all time.

This reminds me of one of the late 90s years when they were playing the Pacers in the ECF. I had to miss the game for some reason, so I taped it. When I got home, my brother was like "dont waste your time, they lost." I'm pretty sure they were at home, too.

 

I thought about it and decided to watch it anyway, because I assumed he had to be lying. He wasn't, but up until the very end I was holding out hope.

We don't run sets anymore. Rose gets into the lane at will but there is no secondary action off of it and he gets stuck.
