Somehow we're just 3 games out of first in the East.

The KG injury has hugely affected the Celtics.

Still no way the Bulls finish first in the East. Far outside chance at 2nd, maybe, if KG is out for most of the year.

I wouldn't be all that surprised if we finished ahead of Boston. They're gonna take their foot off the gas with the injuries piling up. All they need is a top 4 seed and health by the end of the year.

I'd actually consider the Bulls finishing ahead of Boston in the standings like a 50/50. I'd be more surprised if we finished ahead of Orlando.

whats up with rose? his fg% is getting dangerously close to falling under 45%

over his last 9 games he's shooting .414 from the field (70-169)

too many forced shots while trying to draw fouls and appease complainers

He's taking more 3s than ever and sort of ignoring the midrange game that worked so well for him last season.

Also, he's not getting as many easy transition baskets without Noah. But his TS% is pretty much identical to what it was last season on a higher volume of shots so it isn't that big of a deal despite his current shooting slump.

He's taking 5 times as many 3s this year compared to last year. That's a pretty huge change.

i'm no expert, but i'm guessing his 3's at near 40% are a much more efficient way of scoring than his pretty decent midrange game

that said, it's probably somewhat related to the wrist injury and just him being tired... also what IMB said

well i know that's what he's doing, but why?

is it because he's trying to do too much with noah down?

it's weird, it's like he can't decide whether he wants to drive, pass, or shoot a 3. when he does drive, he's usually out of control, at least compared to what we're used to seeing.

the TS being the same is the result of his awesome improvement from 3

Our fast break points are wayyyy down since Noah went out. I doubt we've been in the double digits in any one game since Noah went down.

Fact is, we're a defense/rebounding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team. Offense is almost an after thought until we get Noah and a legit 2 guard.

I really want JR Smith. I think his negatives are minimized on this team and his positives fit really well.

Especially in the playoffs when he decides to play good defense on good players.

pRose is definitely in a shooting slump. Last year he topped all PGs in FG% from something like 12-17 feet. This year he can't seem to knock down that shot with any regularity. Worse yet, he seems to have lost confidence in that shot and has cut back on shooting it. The good news is, those shot attempts are becoming 3 point attempts, something much more efficient for him than the mid range shot.

Rose also is missing a lot of shots at the rim lately. "Giant killers", tear drops, even layups just aren't going in as much. I am not sure if he is trying harder to draw contact and that is throwing his shots off, but he certainly isn't getting to the line more.

I feel like this is a slump Rose is in, and he will get out of it. But I'm not sure he's gonna average 24 PPG this year with the emergence of Boozer and the fact that Rose is noticeably trying to be more of a distributor (or could be deferring more due to slump).

I've also noticed Rose digs himself into huge holes, shooting wise, early in games. He'll start out like 2-10, and get hot in the 2nd half and finish something like 11-23

I think Boozer is more of a half court player for the most part, and with Boozer being the dominant scoring option the last ~10 games, its natural that the Bulls are running less. That said, Thibs did single that out as something the Bulls need to do (faster pace, more fast breaks) in his postgame interview after this afternoon's game.

Well it's Thomas that's replacing Noah and he can't run at this point in his career. Plus Noah would block a shot or grab a rebound and fire an outlet pass (or even dribble the ball up himself) to kick start the break. We've been missing it.

Also he would dunk home a lot of misses on the fast break due to his speed for a big man. We are missing that dunk ins a lot.
