Does anyone know why Hoffpauir is hitting 3rd? Because the 1st baseman is supposed to hit 3rd dude? This would have been a good opportunity to try some other guys out in the 3 hole.

Yeah, Lou's taking on some disturbing Dusty traits when making his lineups.

Trammel is managing tonight, though that's something Lou has been doing his entire time with the Cubs.

STUD. Both base hits he just went with the pitch, not trying to do too much. I only get WGN out here in CO so haven't been able to watch Starlin very much but wow I am excited to watch him grow up in a Cubs uniform.

Needless to say, I've never seen a veteran team make so many fundamental mistakes. Dog days of summer indeed.

How many veteran teams are you watching on a regular basis?

That official scorer is a huge homer. No way that's thing is a double. Error all the way.

Wow. The Cubs obviously stress good, solid fundamental baseball in the minors.

How does he not get back behind that ball? If he sprints back and gets behind the ball instead of just drifting back like that its an easy play.

Then Koye with a great play behind the plate right after.

No kidding. Colvin was there with plenty of time and it should have been an easy catch. He just missed it.

Not sure which is more amazing: Fukudome going the other way to the warning track or Burrell making an over the shoulder catch.
