If thats the end of the deadline, then it hasnt been a very eventful one. Maybe theres another biggy that hasnt made its way through the wires yet.

This wasn't a bad deadline. In the last 24 hours, Roy Oswalt, Lance Berkman, Ted Lilly, and others were traded.

In 2005, the big deadline move in MLB was our acquisition of Matt Lawton. Kyle Farnsworth and Ron Villone were the others of note that were traded.

On a side note, whats the over/under on average attendance for the remainder of the season for the Astros?

Much as I hate that team, I feel bad for their fans. Brutal.

And yet their fans were rewarded with an NL championship and World Series appearance 5 years ago. I don't feel sorry for their fans.

The Pirates made out well today. They dumped Dotel and dead weight (Crosby, Church) for a decent catcher in Snyder and a couple of talented prospects.

The Twins may have had the worst trade with the Capps deal, but the Dodgers had a bad deadline in terms of what they gave up for what they got.

A few random moves today:

The Phillies aquired former Royals perenial pity all star Mike Sweeney from the Mariners

The Pirates got bored and claimed Korean racial barrier pioneer Chan Ho park from the Yankees and Chris Resop from the Braves.
