Canzler just keeps raking. Not sure what I think about him. Hard to know how real that power is (I mean, I don't think anyone expects him to maintain that ISOP he currently has, which at last check was around .260). The fact that he's been moved around the last year and change helps enhance his chances of reaching the bigs.

UGH on jay jax and carpenter. jackson: 5.2 ip, 3 h, 4 er, 6 bb, 3 k, 1 hbp.

carpenter: 5.0 ip, 7 h, 3 r, 2 er, 4 bb, 2 k. guess the ERA wasn't bad but everything else sucked.

rusin was better: 6 ip, 6 h, 3 er, 0 bb, 6 k, 1 hr, 2 hbp

Jay Jackson was having a decent game until 2 outs in the 6th. From that point forward was this......

single, walk, walk, double, wild pitch, and walk. Kind of have to wonder why he was kept in so long.........Possibly a future look into Sandberg's in game management.

It looks like he really mashes LHP.

Im starting to wonder if they should put him in the pen for the remainder of the AAA season and then call him up in September. He seems to have a lot of those games where hes cruising along and then gets in trouble. Also, at least in the immediate future, we'll likely be in more need of quality relief pitchers. Between Jay and Cashner, Id much rather Cashner in the rotation.

Sandberg was in Cooperstown, New York so it wasn't his call. From the Iowa website: "In his absence, the rest of the full-time staff will "manage" their area of the team with assistance from Cubs' Catching Coordinator Marty Pevey, who will also be in uniform tonight."

yeah maybe it's because they pointlessly converted him to a reliever for a couple of weeks.
