Lou seems obsessed with "balance", be it L/R stuff or having good hitters at the top and bottom of his lineup. I think he overthinks in this respect. Lineup construction is not some shadowy, black art. Just bunch up good OBP/SLG at the top/middle of the order.

The Cubs have allow the Pirates to score 18 first inning runs during their the 7 game losing streak. So maybe the Cubs can get a minor win, by not allowing a friggin first inning run to the Pirates.

Lilly forgot to spot the bucs the customary 3 runs. I'm sure he'll remember later.

Bud Selig and his ridiculous blackout rules have saved me from the temptation of watching this game today

never mind, realized it was on WGN just in time to watch Soriano screw up in LF

So have the bleacher fans thrown trash on the field yet this season? Today feels like a day that will happen.

Getting swept twice by the Pirates, lol.

Perhaps the worst strike call i've ever seen.

Strike 2 or strike 3 on, I presume you are talking about Soto? Because strike 2 was an absolute BS strike.

Strike 2 was one of the worst I've seen. Strike 3 was straight out of Naked Gun.

Ok. The umpire purely guess on strike two.
