Yeah, she was probably asking for it.

Weren't the results of the rape kit from the hospital inconclusive? Maybe she had sex willingly and then decided later that it was a mistake and claimed rape. The DA said there wasn't enough evidence to charge him with a crime, right? Roethlisberger seems like a grade A scumbag, but if that's enough to warrant a 6 games suspension then the NFL might have to look into replacement players in order to prevent cancellation of games.

There wasn't enough evidence because the cops screwed up. The cop that investigated Ben was forced to resign.

Anyway, this is why the "conduct detrimental to the league" policy exists. Ben messed up, and got lucky by not getting charged. Goodell is showing him that's not gonna fly.

Because the police involved effectively bungled the investigation.

And why would she claim rape just because she thought sleeping with him was a "mistake?"

Seriously? This happens all the time.

Seriously? Why would someone claim rape over a sexual encounter they felt was a mistake with someone they'd almost certainly never see again? If it was such a mistake and they're filled with such regret, why would they want to prolong the whole mess?

And do think sexual assault accusations/suspicion are more likely to be that something bad went down or that someone made it up?

Half a season without being charged with a crime? LOL.

Not the first time Big Ben been accuse of rape, either. 6 games is fair for the SOB. But the worst punishment Pittsburgh and the NFL can give Big Ben is too allow the Steelers to trade him to Oakland. Now THAT'S hard time.

Buy a woman and all her friends a bunch of drinks, wait until they are good and drunk, have your body guard who is a cop grab one and lead her away from her friends and then procede to have sex with her while your body guards refuse to allow her friends come to stop it is wrong whether she said yes or not.

To me it's just slightly better than a guy who slips a date rape (there's a reason the word rape is used) drug in a drink to get the girl to consent.

I wouldn't say it happens all the time but it does happen occasionally, normally with alcohol heavily involved. However, I think there is a very big difference between someone who doesn't know her limits and then hooks up and regrets it and a girl who is bought drinks all night and then hookups

Why all the talk about the Raiders? Didn't they sign McNabb? Did they sign him for starter money or back up money?

Was I just dreaming that McNabb signed with Oakland?

I'm assuming this is just some joke I'm not getting, but McNabb was traded to the Redskins.

Ah, so I was dreaming. I hate Washington and Oakland equally, so I don't care who got McNabb.

Well, I did ask if I was just dreaming, so I'm not sure why you would think this was some sort of joke you weren't getting.

I thought it was some joke at first. He was rumored to be going to Oakland the whole time he was on the market and considering that ESPN covered the trade for 24 hours straight I figured you would have known.

Not trying to offend you or anything. I have no idea how closely you follow the NFL but I just didn't think someone who cared to post in this thread would have it wrong like that. I thought it was some joke about Oakland always going after any QB on the market that just didn't work well.

Because it was pretty huge sporting news and it seemed unlikely that someone thought he was a FA that signed with Oakland. Shocking as it is, most of us are not privy to your feelings towards Oakland or Washington.

i kind of feel like the white guy talking about the black community here, but it happens. Not so much that it's a girl that thinks "oh that was dumb. MAYBE ILL JUST SAY HE RAPED ME."

I'm trying to think of a way to put this gently. Obviously sexuality and sexual identity or whatever effects each gender differently. i know girls that chase down sex like a drunken 19-year old boy but afterward hate themselves for it. whether there's abuse in their background, i don't know. but it wouldn't shock me.

there was a girl im friends with that talked for months about how hot a friend of mine was and how much she wanted to sleep with him. it was such common knowledge that we joked about it in front of both of them. but when it finally happened, weeks later she started telling people he raped her.

Obviously he didn't, i was there that night. She just has weird sexual issues. I'm not saying this is what happened here, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that something similar took place. thank god someone else has to decide (or not decide) what happened

Oh, and Dixon will start in pittsburgh. leftwich is insurance in case he sucks

Never said lies about sexual assault don't happen. I think, however, it's ridiculous to say she'd claim rape simply because she regretted [expletive] Roethlisberger. If she's trying to get something out of this, OK, fine, or if something's off with her, whatever, but why cry rape over a one night stand with someone she's never going to see or have to deal with again simply because she thinks she "made a mistake?" That's the part I take issue with, especially given what we know about this case.

And imb, you were there when your friend and the chick banged? Grossssssssssssssssss.

Who is No. 2 between Batch and Leftwich? I don't think Pittsburgh knows that right now. Batch was considered the No. 2 behind Big Ben if I am not mistaken but why trade for someone who is a stop gap No. 3 for at most 6 weeks?

Hours before Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the bathroom of a bar, witnesses say he expressed fear of a lawsuit in declining an invitation to a sorority house.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette quotes a witness as saying that a student asked Roethlisberger if he wanted to go back to her sorority house.

"Hell no," Roethlisberger responded, according to the witness. "That's a lawsuit waiting to happen."

Why go all the way back to the sorority house when you can just do it in the bathroom at the bar? Neutral ground!
