Another couple of hits from Colvin and Aducci on the way to a 5 spot in the 2nd.

Aducci has been dark horse favorite of mine for a bit. A question for anyone that's seen him play. He's got a little bit of height to him does he have the physicality (word??) that could allow some power to emerge? Is a Mark Kotsay type of player the best possible outcome or is that a pie in the sky impossibility?

I'd rather see him in AAA to start but I dont think the cubs are going to expect him to hit like he has in spring training. Lou said he will play a lot if he makes the team which was my biggest concern. I think we'll see him in chicago until Nady is healthy simply because hes a better hitter than Fuld.

obviously the cubs aren't going to expect him to hit almost .500, but i don't have any confidence that the cubs will recognize his spring as being significantly impacted by good fortune on batted balls. this organization pays way too much attention to things like batting average and ERA and not enough attention to the more advanced metrics that take luck and random variance into account.

also, i disagree that he's a better hitter than fuld (right now). fuld can control the plate while colvin's discipline is pretty bad. fuld strikes me as a guy who would at least get on base at a decent clip in the big leagues (like .330, so that he wouldn't completely suck) while colvin could probably be exploited pretty easily once the book was out on him.
