"Oh God, no" - the Reds GM response to trading Joey Votto.

lol

no doubt...if Votto stays healthy and has all of his *issues* in check next season he will put up numbers to rival the great Albert Pujols me thinks...

Whut.

there was something in MLBtraderumors yesterday with that quote from Jocketty about Votto

other than that, i don't know what you are confused about

Harang for Bradley.

At this point Bradley might be a better pitcher than harang.

Well okay, maybe not that bad. But he's still been very, very mediocre the last two years.

Whether or not comparing Votto to Pujols was a joke.

although, we could have an Ugly Championship Battle between Harang and Gorzellany

no, it isn't a joke

if he is well put together next season he will be nasty...i am not saying he is a better player...but i wouldn't be surprised to put up number similar or even better...the kid is a pure hitter

Hahaha

So you expect him to put up approx. .334/.427/.628/1.055/172 (BA/OBP/SLG/OPS/OPS+) every year?

And yes, that's Pujols' career average numbers. Freaking mind blowing.

next season guys...i am not saying over a career...i am saying a season of numbers comparable to pujols...i do not think that is out of the range of a kid with the talent of votto

I think you're drastically undervaluing Pujols. Votto definitely has talent, but you're setting the ceiling waaaaaaay too high for him.

right. i agree. think of my prediction as pujols lite. one season of pujols like numbers minus about 30-40 points of OBP and maybe a tad on slugging. One season. I think that is attainable.

A "tad" less slugging? Look at their numbers to this point. What makes you think Votto's going to surge in slugging to or near Pujols' typical performances?

This comparison makes no sense. A 30-40 point difference in OBP and Votto actually slugging like he does doesn't make him anything like Pujols or "Pujols lite."
