I fear Derek Jeter is going to win AL MVP, even though he's only half the baseball player Mauer has been this year. Come on, his OPS is .2 lower than Mauers. He's not even the best player on the Yankees. He's not even the best SS on the Yankees.

 

mauer should and will win it. but jeter winning it wouldn't be near the tragedy you're making it out to be.

 

agreed. i don't like the yankees at all but jeter has been outstanding this season, and if he wins it over mauer, i'll just consider that an evening of the score from when morneau undeservedly beat out jeter in 2006.

the only player who had a better year in '06 was sizemore, imo, and the indians weren't good that year.
