The Southern League Championship begins on September 16th. The Jacksonville Suns (Marlins affiliate) currently lead their series against the Birmingham Barons (White Sox affiliate) 2-0. Their Game 3 was suspended due to rain yesterday and is due to be completed tonight at 5:05 PM CST.

Chris Carpenter was scheduled to start tomorrow's game if necessary but with the extra days, they can start Papelbon or Coleman in Game 1 if they want.

Jacksonville won their game 12-2 and will be advancing to the Southern League Championship to face Tennessee.
