That said, I've heard Cards fans tell me that they would root for the Cubs in the playoffs and all I wanted to do was kick them in the face. Rivalry lines just shouldn't be crossed.

truth. i would rather the tampa devil rays win the world series than st. louis.

do not ask me to root for the school 80 miles down the road (who hired a coach who had 2 final fours vacated for using an illegal player) in march, or february, january, december, november, october, september, or august for that matter either. you know how you always hear, you want your opponents to do well because it improves your strength of schedule? screw that. i take great pleasure seeing the mildcats in futility. there are some things i cannot do. rooting for the dead wings, st. louis, or kentucky are three of them.

personally, i respect people who would never root for my team if we are rivals. you know where you stand with them.

Peoria is basically right in the middle of Chi and stl. Its 50/50 Cubs/cards and I hear this crap all of the time. The cardinals could be playing Al Queda and I would still root for them to lose. I really dont care who wins if its not us, just please don't let it be the cardinals.

1. Pujols, Holliday, Carpenter, Wainwright, Ludwick, DeRosa, and Molina are all busted for PEDs and given 50 game suspensions.

2. Meanwhile, Joe Mauer, Ryan Braun, Roy Halladay, K Rod, and Hanley Ramirez are all waived by their respective teams and the Cubs make deals for all of them.

3. Cubs win the division.

4. Cubs swept in the 1st round of the playoffs by the Rockies, including a perfect game by Jason Marquis.

I know what ya mean...I would say 80% of UK fans don't even consider UL a rival...they see the cards as a WKU or EKU...I tell them to live here for a month during B-ball season and they will no longer see it that way.
