In his downtime, Fuld says he's a voracious reader. One of the Web sites he likes is sporcle.com, which contains (surprise) challenging trivia and numbers games.

Does he read NSBB?

In his September 2007 major league debut, Fuld earned the Chicago Tribune's nod for the 'play of the year' after making a wall-crashing grab and rocket throw resulting in a double play, known to many Cubs fans as "the catch."

I know of no Cubs fans who call that "the catch".

Yeah, that's pretty pathetic writing. It was a nice catch and all, but come on.

Add to that the fact it wasn't even close to his major league debut. It was his 10th game.

The only moment in history baseball fans refer to as "The Catch" is the one by Willie Mays at the Polo Grounds

I was wondering which "The Catch" (baseball or football) would be more famous, so off to google I went.

Results: Youtube picks baseball. Wikipedia picks baseball, but it's close. Google's first hit is for the Wikipedia page on the football catch. Baseball in a split decision.

The real question is: will White Sox fans start calling something else The Catch now?

I don't think of White Sox fans as baseball fans

I expect that sort of partisanship from Cubs fans living on the South Side. Coming from a European I'm not sure has even been to this country, it seems odd

My baseball coach is a White Sox fan and we always make fun of each other for being Cubs/White Sox fans. I don't really hate Sox fans, only when I'm around him. and he is from the south side.

Thats not necessarily true. The White Sox emblazoned the words "The Catch" in the spot Wise caught that ball last month.

That the White Sox PR staff arbitrarily labeled it "The Catch" does not necessarily mean that anyone of value actually calls it as such. The White Sox also consider Hawk Harrelson a broadcaster; the fallacy to that should be obvious.
