You know what I'd really like to see? One of those innings that is fueled by two, three, even four walks that we became accustomed to last year. Fred, out of curiosity, do you keep a stat of say, how many times the Cubs have walked three+ times in an inning this year versus last year?

No, I only have walks per game. I'd have to go back and dig inning by inning to get that.

I wouldn't ask that of my worst enemy. Thanks anyway, sir.

So, what are you waiting for? ;)

If you were someone like Ryan Howard, Carlos Delgado, Barry Bonds, etc. Wouldn't you want to work on your opposite field hitting so they can't do the shift to you? They generally try pitching away anyway to stay away from your power so if you spent an off-season or so working on hitting it the other way they can't eliminate completely, one side of the field.

Howard goes the other way really well. Look at how they play him in the OF next time he comes up. It just so happens that when he does hit the ball on the ground, he pulls it. It would be dumb for him to try to change what has obviously been very effective for him thus far.

On the Phillies broadcast they were discussing the fact that Ramirez has driven in 100+ runs in every year he's been with the Cubs with the exception of 2005. Sarge criticized him a bit by saying he "didn't want to play that year." He could have got to a 100 easy but didn't want to, you'd think a guy in that position would have."

Wasn't that the year he was injured?
