Tyler Walker was just DFA'd.

11IP 1.64ERA 1.00WHIP. 100%WTF?

Phillies designated RHP Tyler Walker for assignment.

Signed to a minor league contract in early April, Walker had a 1.40 ERA and 20/3 K/BB ratio in 19 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level before earning a promotion to the bigs on June 14. He allowed just two earned runs in 11 innings with the Phillies while compiling a 5/1 K/BB ratio, but the club obviously saw something in the right-hander that they didn't like. He's sure to find a home elsewhere.

Must've been something about his personal demeanor. Don't know why they'd DFA a guy with those numbers so far this year... maybe it was a Luis Vizcaino type situation?

Did I miss something? What was the "Luis Vizcaino Situation"?

Just read in a comment on MLBTR that he's allowed 7 of 10 inherited base runners to score, making his ERA look deceptive. That was probably a contributing factor

He was released by the Cubs despite getting decent results in his brief tenure with the team because they didn't like the velocity on his pitches and believed he was getting people out on smoke and mirrors.

They released him because he was late one day, and they found that unacceptable for a mediocre middle reliever.

Vizcaino or Walker?

Thought so, but I wasn't sure and never read anything on why Vizcaino was released.
