i'm in a fantasy football league and need to set four keepers out of the following options:

K. Warner, QB

M. Forte, RB

R. Grant, RB

A. Johnson, WR

E. Royal, WR

S. Jackson, RB

T. Gonzalez, TE

J. Cutler, QB

K. Smith, RB

L. White, RB

C. Ochocinco, WR

B. Berrian, WR

D. Driver, WR

needless to say, my team is not in great shape. i figure that forte and andre johnson are definite keepers - who else? is steven jackson going to be good again? is it worth keeping kurt warner for another 1-2 years since nobody else is that good? help me out.

Steven Jackson is a top 10 player. I am drafting 5th in a league (one keeper only) and will select him if he is available. Kevin Smith isnt a bad option either, he played really well at the end of last year and Detroit is going to be much more run oriented.

i guess i will keep him because the rest of my team blows. i had no idea that he rushed for 1000 yards the last 2 years; it seemed like both years he was always injured and massively disappointing.

I'd keep Cutler, Forte and Johnson for sure.

I'd think about Royal, but I'm not sure how he'll do without Cutler. Probably Jackson as the 4th, though finding capable RBs isn't terribly difficult.

Assuming regular stats this is the way that I would go. If it is a points per reception league, I'd think about keeping a WR instead. Maybe Berrian, although you could get him later anyways. He is going to have a huge year with Favre throwing to him.

I have a keeper/methodology question:

How many people actually target a top QB going into a draft compared to getting a value QB later and stacking RB/WR in the first 5 rounds?

My keeper question is either Calvin J. in the 4th round or Warner in the 12th. I realize Warner in the 12th round is a great value, but getting a top tier WR, which are more scarce, in the 4th could provide a better return.

Netting Calvin the 4th could get me 2 top tier WR's and still allow for a #1 and #2 RB. (if going Rb round 1, Wr rnd 2, RB round 3, Calvin in 4).
