He's a very good looking white dude who has an Ivy League education and is very well spoken. He was also a valuable contributor to the team the last two years. In short, he's everything the fans at Wrigley love in a player.

 

I bet fewer than 20 percent the standing, applauding fans know that DeRosa went to Penn. And I bet some of those people don't know that Penn is an Ivy League school.

I was fine with the cheering until it was DeRo's 3rd and 4th AB on Sunday. Then it got a wee bit nauseating, for me anyway.
