Have there been ANY rumors about him signing somewhere? I grew to love him last year, and it boggles the mind that he hasn't found a home yet.

Last I heard, he was on the verge of signing with the Orioles before we traded them Pie... at which point they lost interest in Edmonds.

No news since then.

Hopefully, the cubs Fukudome sucks.

Que?

I think he meant to say "Hopefully the Cubs, Fukudome sucks." Misplacing the comma can change the entire meaning.

Still warrants a "que?"

I think he was being sarcastic.

I liked Edmonds last year, but I don't think the Cubs need him. The outfield is the one place where we actually have sufficient depth, with Fukudome, Bradley, Hoffpauir, Johnson... Tacking on one more would just be unnecessary money being spent. Where we need help is the bullpen.

The trouble with these guys like Edmonds, Durham, and Lofton has to be money. If they were willing to sign a 1-2 million dollar deal I cant imagine them not having jobs by now, but thats chump change to them, and they know if they wait until July or August, they can probably get that same money for just a few months of work, and end up on a ready set contender.

Bradley's season is probably over.

Fuku to RF.

Edmonds/Johnson platoon.

kthxbye

I had to come out of my semi-lurk to say I wholeheartedly agree. I may just be biased by nostalgia from last year, but Edmonds seems like a good way to replace the (non)production of Bradley in his fragile state. But, I want them to get DeRosa back, too, so it definitely could be the nostalgia talking.
