There's mini Gameday for minor leagues now, sweet.

Jackson is off to a rough start. 4 pitch walk, single on a full count, K, HR, GO, K in the first. Nearly 30 pitches.

Didn't that have that last year? Or was it only for AAA games?

I remember watching Hoff's 4 HR game on a game day.

Gameday was only for AAA last season.

Thanks for picking up the slack, O_O. My grandpa doesn't believe in WiFi, sadly.

Man, Jay Jackson has been brutal today.

he'll probably take some time to adjust. he's been promoted very aggressively - he was only drafted last year and has only pitched 50 innings as a professional. starting this season at AA is something you'd expect from a guy like david price, who starred at a high-profile college program. jackson played at a smaller program and played a lot of outfield.

ITI has a story in regards to Cashner. Sounds like the Cubs are shooting for Cashner to be back in Daytona by the 20th to the 25th. The Cubs won't let him out of extended until he can throw 5 innings in Arizona.

Tony Thomas has been off to a great start (yeah, only 15 at bats).

i've noticed. i liked him as a potential offensive 2B when he was drafted but it really seemed like he took a huge step backward last year, especially in the erosion of his plate discipline. it's nice to see him get off to a good start, hitting for power and showing some patience. hopefully he can keep it up.

Considering he was skipped up to Daytona last year, I think people were a bit too harsh in evaluating him. Yeah, if he was a really good prospect, the jump wouldn't have hurt him so much. But, at the same time, it was his first time in full season ball facing more advanced pitching than he saw in Boise or college.

If he can finish the year showcasing better plate discipline, he'll vault himself back into the Cubs' Top 10.

I'm really interested to see if defensive metrics continue to rate him highly. Like Cro Magnon mentioned elsewhere, he was rated a 2 win defender last year. If that holds up(or even half that holds up), he can be a real asset even if he never ends up as a dynamite hitter.

That matches what the scouts said this offseason that Thomas has improved to an above average defender.
