Fielding Stats

Is anybody familiar enough with fielding stats to explain why there's four second basemen the top 20 of UZR/150? Intuitively it would seem that second basemen would be less important than the other positions, and the run differential between the best vs average second basemen would be much lower than for outfielders.

The fielding stats are based off an average at each position and not all positions are equal.

For instance a +5 fielder at 2B is not the same as a +5 fielder in RF.

There's just a bigger gap in talent at 2B, which explains why there are a bunch at the top.

I might be mistaken, but I thought UZR and UZR/150 were 'runs saved' concepts.
